My life really took a nose dive at the end of 2023. Long story short, I nearly lost my mom to a horrible fall. Depression and anxiety took over. Any project I wanted to finish up..did not happen. I'm trying to look at this new year as a new start. Which means actually finishing up and starting new stories. Trying to use writing as a way to escape my anxiety rather then let it take over.
District 9: Hansen's Hope- It will be done at some point, sooner rather then later. I just haven't found the inspiration to go back and do the last chapter. But I promise I'm not going to leave it hanging. I need to finish it. I can't leave a story unfinished. I'm really excited about it and when I do finish it, I'll be spreading it like wild fire. It's such an important project to me, the movie means so much to me. So yeah, it will be done.
Woodland: A Rodent Romance-Now onto my novella. I try to publish one story a year, and this could be the one. Of course, I could change my mind-but so far this is shaping up to be quite cool. I have a new anthropomorphic character, Rogue the Rat. You may remember a while back I wrote a book called Blood In Fur which was basically my love letter to the furry fandom. It had Leonard, an ex-police dog who was at the time the anthro character I thought of the most and had invented years ago. I'm really glad I wrote a story with Leo because that truly was something I needed to get out of my head.
Moving onto Woodland, it's basically a romance story. Now romance isn't a genre I'm used to writing in, but I never try to let genre define me. If I have an idea-I'm going to attempt it. Plus, it's not like Hallmark romance, it's more of an action story with romantic highlights. Having it star all animals also I think really differentiates it from the typical paperback love story. It's inspired by Zootopia and is going well.
Darak the Minotaur 8- Yes. It will happen. I have the first chapter done and am on the second one. It's basically Darak if he was in the story of Beowulf. So in a way, it's an easy write because I know the entire story already. Which is rare for me. Of course, they're differences and the ending will be different, but it's fun to sort of re-write a classic tale.
Secret Project- I won't say much as I JUST started writing this...but I'll say it's a full on revenge tale with a female viking and her talking raven. Not sure where it's going to go, if it'll end up going anywhere. But so far it's fun!
So yeah, I hope this year I crank out a bunch of stories!Thank you for reading as always. I should also mention that if you have a Goodreads account, PLEASE drop me a review and star-rating. It helps me keep going and helps spread my work. Here's my GR account.
